Ingunnarskóli is situated in the capital Reykjavík with about 400 pupils, which come from the neighborhood. A small part of them are pupils with special needs. During the last few years has Reykjavík received numbers of foreigners mostly from Colombia and Syria. There are 39 teacher in our school and about 8 with other pedagogical educations.
The school from Iceland has been involved in projects regarding refugees previously. They were Palestinians but had lived in Iraq. They came from a refugee camp in Al Waleed. The project coordinator from Iceland was one of the support families for one family. They came to her home town in 2008 and was involved in helping them to settle in Iceland.
